First Alert BRK 9120 smoke or combo detector like this one. This is a hard wired type of detector which will only operate when it is plugged into its cable and the cable attached to the wall or ceiling.
If you are getting five continuous beeps, it means it has reached its EOL, or end of life. It will not work no mater what you try to do. It needs to be thrown away, and replace with the same model or similar model of First Alert BRK detector.
