For 2024, state of California requirements for all home sink aerators is 2.2 gallons per minute (GPM) of flow.
Any newly purchased sink fixture will be compliant if you purchased them in the state of California For older fixtures, you can easily measure the flow with using a marked water container. Matching replacement aerators are readily available at Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon and various hardware stores. This requirement applies to all sinks throughout the home. This applies not only to homes in the city of Los Angeles but all homes in the state of California.
How to measure the flow? Measure the time to fill up a one gallon container completely, then calculate what it would be for 60 seconds. That is your ‘gallons per minute’ measurement. Use a one gallon pitcher like this one.
