When selling a home in the city of Burbank, the following items should be checked by a independent third party retrofitter for full compliance. This ensures all parties, including agents and their brokers, will be covered in case of loss, injury or death after escrow closes.
The incorporated city of Burbank requires smoke detectors in each bedroom, bedroom hallway, and on each floor. Seismic EQ valve on gas meter is not required. Carbon monoxide detector on each level at least. Hot Water heater tank must be double strapped. Tankless water heaters do not need to be strapped. Low flow toilets and showerhead in each bathroom. Thank you. How do you know if your toilet is 1.6 or 1.28?
If the toilet is brand new it will be 1.28, otherwise check right behind the toilet seat, between the seat and the tank, and it should say if it is 1.28 or 1.6 GPF. Sometimes it will be stamped under the lid. Otherwise send us a photo of it and we should be able to tell.
